What are the specs for an avatar?

SQUARE & bigger than the target of 68x68. It is going to go through the SiteWare's crop process anyway - so downsampling will happen no matter what

If your current Avatar is what you're asking about, it looks great!

I just kept playing around with mine, til it was the right size, both physically and digitally.

It's amazing how important it can be, isn't it?

Congratulations on making Level 3. Fortunately for most people we don't have to worry about the photo size or else there would be a lot of iPhone/iPad contibutors with empty avatars. Please keep up the good work, the Forum can always use all the talent it can get.

I have experienced this as well... I have found that sometimes I needed to remove ALL the custom avatars - saving after each deletion - and then adding the one I want back.

Avatars page has been finicky ever since I have been active here (Summer 2014) - it comes and goes, or I don't change my avatar often (Paris/Belgium solidarity and Prince's death are examples of time frames)

Unfortunately yes. Let's hold off and if it isn't better soon one of us could send in a report. Diana.McCall earned that avatar, might as well make sure everything's OK at Headquarters. 🙂

I'm seeing the notebook avatar in the thread, the pop-up overlay panel, and the leaderboards. You've also obtained the Be Yourself award.

Leaderboard ? oh yes the leaderboard, what was I thinking, not the window.

Unfortunately I see the previous avatar there too.

I guess that somewhere a server is still caching the old avatar, since your iPad probably won't be caching the image locally.

Thank you. Now that you mention it recently another Lounge member and I were looking a two versions of their expertise.

Are you saying you uploaded a custom avatar and it won't "take"

1. selected when you visit the avatar page?
2. [Save] button when you do select it?

I am a huge fan - have several photos - some photo shopped and others not

Some one I guess complained at one point and the mods took down a somewhat risqué picture

After that the flying avatar was back on - but then I had second thoughts about it as well -

After that I decided to keep it simple

Changed to the notebook on purpose since the MBP is the best thing to have happened to me computing wise
